New Los Angeles County EMT Scope of Practice Training Requirement

All EMTs who certify through the Los Angeles County EMS Agency or work as EMTs in Los Angeles County must complete the 2011 Los Angeles County EMT Scope of Practice training. The deadline to complete this training is December 31, 2013.

 

Approved 2011 EMT Scope of Practice Training Programs

Los Angeles County approved EMT Training programs are required to include the 2011 Los Angeles County EMT Scope of Practice training no later than December 31, 2011. EMTs who begin and complete an approved EMT Program in Los Angeles County after January 1, 2012 will receive this training.

All other EMTs must complete training through an approved 2011 Los Angeles County EMT Scope of Practice program.  Programs offering this training are identified by “2011 EMT Scope of Practicewith the implementation date on our web page.  A list of approved programs open to the public can be found here.

 

Verification of Training

Submit a copy of the course completion certificate for the 2011 Los Angeles County EMT Scope of Practice with your next Los Angeles County EMT certification application prior to December 31, 2013.

California EMTs issued certification by other California EMS or public safety agencies shall submit a copy of their 2011 Los Angeles County EMT Scope of Practice course completion certificate to their employer prior to December 31, 2013.
